Twenty years ago . . .

Hard to imagine that twenty years ago, my mom and dad passed away hours apart. I’m not going to rehash that story in this post. If you’re interested, you can go here to read it. Just wanted to take a bit of time away from a busy writing schedule and other obligations of life to remember them.

Missing them right now, and remembering the better times. The picnics, the annual tour of Catskill Game Farm, and the visits after with Aunt Babe and her family. Wish we could have visited them more often, but seems like we got together with Mom’s side more often as they were much closer by us. Those visits to Otis, Mass and the friends there. The outings st their camp on Spectacle Pond. Horseback riding at Mrs. Alphonso’s back in the day, and learning to ride on trail horses that may or may not listen to your cues! Going to the library with Mom. Listening to Mom give a couple of my teacher’s hey for making the whole class do spelling words a million times each for something a couple of class clowns did.

Coming downstairs, wondering what all the commotion was about, and finding them chasing each other around the house for something one of them had said or done. No clue what that might have been. Always came down in the middle of it, and no one would elaborate. So, one must use imagination here.

I know it was easy to come up with something to get a rise out of Dad. Hee Hee. I did it often enough, always prepared to run like hey once the words left my mouth. Ah yeah . . . Fun times, fun times.

I have acquired some cool PowerPoint templates for slideshows and videos, and once I play with them a bit, I want to do a vid using all the old pictures I have. I may have more of Dad’s side than Mom’s, but I think it’ll be a great feature here.

I’m working on edits of my young adult novel and finishing the first draft of my sweet contemporary romance, third of my series, so it will probably be a few days before I get to it. Or, the urge to play will overcome me, and it’ll be here tomorrow! 🙂 I’ll try not to take all year to get to it.

Until then, I hope your day was happy and tomorrow even better!
